After the Second World War, the dream of a hotel in Svendborg really began to take off. A circle of citizens in Svendborg incl. manufacturer and deputy mayor Einar Halberg \u2013 who later became mayor \u2013 initiated the first discussions about a hotel. A share capital of just over DKK 700,000 was subscribed, and funds from the Marshall Aid made it possible to build an international-class hotel in Svendborg.<\/p>

In May 1955, the first overnight guests checked into Hotel Svendborg, which then had 60 rooms. After 25 years of good times for the city's hotel, the late 1970s saw fluctuating earnings, and therefore Einar Halberg and his family chose to buy the hotel in 1979 for DKK 3.5 million. The Halberg family initiated a renovation and in 1985 opened a further 27 rooms as well as two meeting and party rooms.<\/p>

In the following 15 years, progress was experienced, but also that the hotel's size did not meet today's requirements. Therefore, Hotel Svendborg was expanded with a further 2000 m2 of meeting rooms and 18 new rooms, which were inaugurated in the year 2000. In 2002, it was expanded again, so that Hotel Svendborg today has 135 rooms.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

In 2001, one more hotel came to Halberg Hotels \u2013 Hotel Garni at Toldbodvej 5 in Svendborg. The former Hotel Royal. The hotel was completely renovated and opened in 2001 with 18 rooms. In 2022, Hotel Garni will be expanded with a further 10 rooms. The hotel is a "self-service hotel", and check-in and booking takes place via Hotel Svendborg.<\/p>

In 2011, another hotel will be added to Halberg Hotels \u2013 Hotel Kronprinds Frederik in Fredericia, which, however, changes its name shortly afterwards to Hotel Fredericia. In connection with the purchase, the hotel will be renovated and expanded, so that today there are 118 rooms. In 2022 Hotel Fredericia opened a new restaurant.<\/p>

Halberg Hotels will buy the fourth hotel in 2022. Another hotel in Svendborg \u2013 Hotel \u00c6r\u00f8 in Brogade. The maritime hotel by the harbor offers 62 rooms and a restaurant with a view of the South Funen archipelago.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
